For as long as he can remember, Sheldon Fisher has always enjoyed storytelling. He grew up reading books 和 comics, 和 eventually started 写作 his own stories based on culture, 童话, 民间传说, 和神话故事. He even started drawing 和 creating his own characters.

“I like to pull things in from all over the world,费雪说. “The more I got into creating my own characters, the more I started 写作 和 that became a passion because I liked telling my own stories.”

Fisher decided he wanted to improve the way he was 写作 his stories 和 characters, 和 decided to return to college at a non-traditional 年龄 和 enroll in Delaware Tech’s communications program.

“As a creative artist 和 writer, communications was the best choice for me,” he said.

但, instead of just improving his 写作, Fisher said he started learning other things such as video 和 audio editing that interested him 和 exp和ed his creativity.

“I’ve gained a broader underst和ing of what I am capable of with a greater level of experience regarding skills related to the communications field such as audio 和 video production 和 editing, graphic design, 新闻, 和, 当然, 写作,费雪说. “I’ve found myself doing 和 enjoying things I’d never previously considered.”

Besides the challenges of returning to college later in life, Fisher also had to balance supporting his family, taking classes 和 finishing homework, 和 working a full-time job. While it was difficult at times, Fisher said he found Delaware Tech to be accessible 和 welcoming, with a pleasant faculty.

“My favorite memories are some of the various projects I’ve worked on, 但也, simply hanging out in the production suite with the many talented students pursuing the same major, with similar goals,费雪说.

After he graduates, Fisher plans to work as a freelance writer to maintain 和 sharpen his skills while focusing on publishing his own books. His dream is to become a successful author.
