Baseball has been part of Matt Rodriguez's life since he was 9 years old, and he's hoping to make it part of his future.

Rodriguez is majoring in man年龄ment at Delaware Tech with the goal of transferring to a four-year university to major in sports man年龄ment.

"When baseball comes to an end for me I want to help athletes accomplish their goals and give them the knowledge I have of the game," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez has been a key contributor to the Delaware Tech baseball team as a starting infielder, as well as part of the bullpen, and one of the leading hitters on the team.

But graduating is the number one goal.

"It was important for me to come to college because I would be the first person in my family to get a degree," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said he has been able to balance his homework and playing and practicing at Delaware Tech compared to other colleges he attended. He also has found the perfect place to get his work done.

"For people like me who get distracted easily, the library is a place where I can go and focus on only homework," Rodriguez said.

Besides earning a degree in sports man年龄ment, when he's done at Delaware Tech Rodriguez still hopes to play baseball at a higher level or start coaching.
